Blur...
Everything was a blur. We had a fine time seeing the crew in Cedar Lake. Time is never long enough.
Two days after arriving in Korea, we left for Winter Camp ’06. It was cold. We didn’t sleep much. The cafe ran out of food a few times. We had a good time with Angela’s group of students. That was meaningful. I caught a cold.
Our group had just been talking about times when good things had come from other bad things, when Charissa walked out of the cabin and twisted her ankle. It’s sprained. It’s painful. It’s about time for the good thing to follow.
I had another neck situation at 4:30a.m. Sunday night/Monday morning after Winter Camp. Today, Tuesday, I started a new therapy session with an Oriental physician—acupuncture, massage, chiro. A Korean teacher recommend him. They used to be members of the same church.
Some of his techniques were new... and painful. He used thicker needles, so the acu was intense. Goodness. And his assigned stretches were quick, repeated, jerking motions. “Not smooth.” But, you know, I think I’m going to do them a little slower.
We just extended our contracts for four more months. At the end of June, we’ll see what the next step is. Will God keep us here, or will there be a new adventure? Life is an adventure. Sometimes a painful one.
Pack light and leave the needles and blur at home.
