Crystal and I did not go to the Teva Mountain Games in Vail. However, if you're interested, here are the winners of the climbing contests:
Bouldering Men: Daniel Woods
Bouldering Women: Alex Puccio
Speed Men: Rob D'Anastio
Speed Women: Alex Puccio
Dyno Men: Michael Auldridge
Dyno Women: Kasia Pietras
(I've only heard of Daniel and Rob.)
Crystal and I did go the 9th Annual Aurora Asian Film Festival. We saw Grain in Ear, a South Korean/Chinese award winner (Cannes and Pusan Film Festiveal). I think it might be like trying to understand American culture by watching Napolean Dynomite with half the dialogue and long, awkward sequences of naked men. Because Napolean D. is full of American culture, but without a prior understanding of it, whoah you're lost. We were, and are, lost.
My 3+ years in Korea and 5 days in China plus a few books is simply not enough background. If you've ever been confused by a Korean movie, you know what I'm talking about. Lost.
I think I caught the major plot twists, but no, I'm lost. And I think they decided that it had gone on long enough, so they just stopped adding random scenes and ran the credits. It was definitely artistic. Anything that minimalistic must be artistic. I am an American Bison plowing through an Asian pottery market.

My old female boss in Korea couldn't say no to her male superiors when they asked her to work more. The main lady in Grain in Ear could not say no to her male superiors when they had sex with her (no asking this time). And then her boy died. We infer. And then she killed people. Maybe.
We listened to Covered in the Dust of Your Rabbi by Rob Bell on the way there and back.
We had a horizon broadening day.
I am going for a walk now to find my fox fam... to clear my mind.
