HOBBY: Geocaching

We were introduced to geocaching this weekend. Jason, Emily, Jr., and Detre took us to the Flatirons for a treasure hunt. Charissa found two caches, and now she wants a GPS for Christmas. To learn more about geo-caching go here.

We didn’t see any foxes tonight, but we did watch two raccoons fight over the bowl of dog food on our back porch. Another one was waddling up, but he got skittish when I turned on the porch light. They are so awesome. Our cameras were in the car, so I’ll have to be better prepared next time.

I love watching these three TV shows: Extreme Makeover--Home Edition, My Name is Earl, & The Office.

What are you talking about?! Since when do I pose action shots? Whatever.

Okay, it's hard to hide secrets from previous posers. :)

I would love to do geocaching, it sounds so awesome. Coincidentally (along with co-ops) we don't get it here.

We played the Amazing Race with the little youth group at our church though, lot of driving around and stopping to take photos of yourself doig weird tasks. I was supposed to be a driver.

Though I have chuckled while watching the American version of The Office I have must agree with Sarah that Ricky Gervais has not been replaced. Gervais is a genius. Or at least very funny.

I was so heartened to see the recognition he and Stephen Merchant got when the U.S series won its Emmy.

Here's my main quibble with the U.S. show: the ad campaigns have already gone to the "watch a very special episode of 'The Office'" technique. The whole "will-they-wont-they" plot line is troubling.

Of course Jeff--I still love you and respect you and trust that your taste in television is based on a discriminating entertainment palate.

Then again you do like Weird Al's UHF...

Helen, what kind of "weird tasks" did you do? That sounds awesome.

You know, I've never even heard of the British sitcom, so I have to do some research. I'm missing out on something.

What could be more fulfilling than UHF?!

I am happy to report that there are currently 1,338 geocaches in South Africa. 16 have been added since October 12. Great adventure awaits you!

The guy who introduced me to is showed me that there are also geocaches all over Seoul. I missed out, though the total in Korea is only 67.

really? Where can I find out about them?

It was tasks like meeting a celebrity, going on an aeroplane (the loittle arcade ones worked), eating pizza, finding a crying child... each team had a camera so they could prove they had done everything.

oh, and the British (original) The Office series is so awesome! I though the American version was terrible...

here's a cool word verification for Travis: yervhipl

And I find quiet joy in watching Ugly Betty.
