I am thankful to Susan for lending me The Speed of Trust by Stephen Covey, son of the man you're probably thinking of. It was fabulous.
Read it. Live it. Develop the two categories that together form the four cores--Character (integrity, intent) and Competence (capabilities, results). The waves of trust and the 13 behaviors are worthwhile.
I also really appreciated his ability to make trust more than a vague concept. It affects speed and cost, and therefore overall profitability. And I guess trust is desired at home as well. Whatever.
