I can now pack even lighter. Someone stole my external hard drive from the office. You know, the one with all our pictures and writings and taxes and projects and practically the whole world of ideas and images. When our laptop began to die last summer, we dumped everything onto that drive, that drive that I did not back up.
So if you have pictures that you want to share with us, please do!
Oddly enough, just the night before I had blogged about not storing up treasure on earth. It's a lot easier to keep that on a hypothetical level!
The person walked past other hard drives in other cubicles and past thousands of dollars of video equipment to get to my desk. Then they just took my personal drive and left the two work drives that were better than mine. Nothing else in the office appears to be touched, and the video security device malfunctioned and didn't record anything. Naturally, we concluded the government took it because I left Treadstone. Fair enough.
My task for the afternoon after I discovered it missing was to sort CDs of pictures that were taken during relief efforts after Hurricane Katrina hit. Even though I was still a wee bit upset, it did put the loss in perspective.

That sucks.
Treadstone.....yeah. I can't keep all the passports and aliases straight. They keep catching me.
I'll help with the pictures.
Thanks for sending anything you can. It's good to share; you never know when you'll need something back. :)
