Three of us went camping at
Kite Lake, and we were joined by four new friends. They were there to climb Mt. Democrat (elev. 14,148), and Jason and I planned to hike that in addition to Cameron (elev. 14,239, technically considered part of Lincoln), Lincoln (elev. 14,286), and Bross (elev. 14,172). All parties were successful.
Jason made dinner in our roadside home (the campsites were full).
Todd, Veronica, Jonathan and Jenny joined us. It was chilly.
A beautiful rainbow (as opposed to all those ugly ones you usually see) appeared and continued to grow.
It turned red, so Jason ate it.
The mountains were on fire. We were frustrated by the clouds because they were blocking the meteor shower. But then Jason woke us up around 1:30am when the sky had cleared.
Amazing stars. No pictures though.
